My last cycle was about 28 days. Today I am on day 33. I tested negative with an HPT on the day of my expected period and again today.
I'm not having a lot of symptoms other than really sore breasts and fatigue. I get tired a lot more easily than I did. My breasts are really sore and feel really heavy. It hurts to wear a bra and to not wear one. Also I have these little goosebump-things around my nipples ( i guess they're called montgomery tubercles? ) which are really sore like pin-pricks.
I'm just wondering should I wait it out another week or so or get in to see a doctor? Could the doctor tell if I'm pregnant by this time? I would only be about 4 1/2 weeks if I am.

btw I haven't been under a lot of stress. My hubby was in Iraq for 9 months (got back in June) and my cycle was normal all through that and THAT was stressful.

OK I have not been bleeding for 33 days I only bleed for 5 days for my periods. What I meant is that it's been 33 days since the first day of my last normal period (which lasted 5 days).

You could very well be pregnant. I would say that the hormone isn't built up enough in your system yet for an HPT. Go to the doctor and have a blood test. They are way more sensitive and accurate.

If you have been on your cycle for 33 days. Then I HIGHLY doubt that you are pregnant, but you might really want to go and see a doctor as soon as possible because it's not very healthy for your body to be going through a menstrul cycle for 33 days. That's a lot of blood that you are losing and the fatigue may be from all of the blood that you are loosing.
If I were you I would either go to the Urgent Care or the E.R and have them help you. They can either give you something to slow down the bleeding, stop the bleeding or they might have to give you blood since you have lost a lot of it already. But depending on your age you may be going through Menopause. Usually when you do go through Menopause your last cycle that you will ever have is for about a month or 2. Menopause doesn't only happen to the older women, it also happens to younger women in some cases. The youngest woman to go through menopause was 20 years old. You should really go to a doctor! Call you doctor and tell them your symptoms and tell them that you have, and tell them it may be an emergency. and you need to be seen asap!
If you were pregnant the pregnancy test would have turn positive.

your period may just be late, however home pregnancy tests sometimes are not very sensitive and do not detect the hcg (pregnancy hormone) in your body...blood tests that the doctors do are much more sensitive and should pick up much much smaller amounts of hcg in your body if you are pregnant.

if its been 4 1/2 weeks since the first day of your last period...a blood test should definitely pick up whether or not you are pregnant.

btw, hcg doubles in a womans body everyday if she is pregnant.

I was able to test at 3 1/2 weeks with a home pregnancy test and get a positive reading

good luck with it all....wishing you all the best :)

you could be pregnant and the hormone levels are just not picking it up by the time of day your taking these test.try the wait to pee until early morning technique ...usually they can tell early but sometimes it doesn't show until about 5 wks or so with just going on the stick whenever.yes the doctor would be able to tell even if the HPT didn't.I once took negative test at home and went to the doctors and was pregnant so it just depends.
