No one is talking about war with Cuba.
It has been the United States official policy since John F. Kennedy to "draw Cuba away from communism" we have be trying that for 40 years. There is nothing new about that statement.

Very likely the United States will simply push for and encourage Democratic elections when Castro dies.

Well I would guess Russia's latest actions. I would guess preventative maintenance. Would not want it to be a reoccurring missile site for Russia again. And as History's past Russia was and I would only assume is in bed with them. As countries have been picking partners in the WW3 dance if you will, you see Russia,Iran,Venezuela,Cuba and we can't forget about China. Very scary stuff. I could only guess new intel has surfaced. Also I would be very scared of any ruler in his last days. a man's psychology can go astray when dealing with his last days. So I would say there is purpose behind the move but is it the right way to deal with things.. I would never know since I have never seen a more peaceful approach. However when Regain dealt one on one with Russia it seemed to do some good. A little communication goes a long way. It kind of reminds me of angry people talking BS behind computer screens. No one would have flame wars in person.

Cuba was better off as our colony. The Cuban people have demonstrated an inability to govern themselves and we should re-take what we rightfully won from Spain many years ago. Bush has a good plan and could only be improved by more serious plans to remove the Communists from power.

Right on... Cuba seems to have a sustainable economy and has delt with a shortage of oil very effectively. The country has universal health coverage and the population is well educated.
It seems like America could learn a few things from our good neighbor. It's good that globalization has not hit this island.

Clearly you and your first two respondents have no concept of international politics, or, in the case of "Skeptic" especially, have any rational thinking in the political arena at all. You're question clearly indicates you need much more studying in Political Science, which includes international politics and its effect on domestic policies. When you do get that education, which takes time and serious study and mental energy, THEN you can come back and ask a credible question, but you lack the maturity of political thought to expect an answer here that wouldn't be worth at least 5 or 6 courses in Political Science on the college level. And then you won't have to get such pathetic answers as those from "Skeptic" and "anthony!" God Bless you.

Bush needs to keep his mind out of their business.
How would he like another country telling him how to run America, although, he sure could use some pointers.
