for just a second. if you could name a song that best describes you as of right now. What would it be?

Mine is Enya's "The river sings".(Some of you might truly get as to why i say this. There are quite a few brilliant as well as philosophical individuals on here.).
Yours?

Won't win any prizes, but I honestly cannot think of a song that is really descriptive.

Nobody has set the full poetry that is descriptive of me to music yet, that I am aware of.

But if you need music, perhaps Beethoven's 7th Symphony comes the closest of a single composition; I am especially fond of the second movement. My instrument of choice is featured in this part of the symphony, and conveys I think serenity as well as longing. And I know they are a bit contradictory... not sorry about that.

And a close follow-up would be Dvorak's Symphony "From the New World". Wish we of the "New World" fit together and blended our efforts as harmoniously as the Symphony

No conceit meant, but I do find that only a piece with many colours and moods and even some contradictory-seeming areas covers the gamut for me.

And I like many other pieces. And I'd best shut up before they come to take me away, ha ha, hee hee...

My congratulations to those who provided poetry or words; helps in the understanding. And I enjoy the verbal imagery since many of the songs and even groups listed do not ring bells with me.

I agree with ashleyro.....sort of.

Twisted Sister.
We're not gonna take it, no-ah, we ain't gonna take it, anymoooooooore.

I'm sick of the crap.

My other song would be Cat's Cradle by Cat Stevens.

I am so busy chasing the dream that my eight year old son wants me to quit and go work at McDonalds so we have more time to play together at home and eat Big Macks.

I think he has a point, this idea has been under serious consideration for two days now.

I have a song that I hope represents me when I am out and about in the world, but no one would recognize it, so I am posting the words.

WHAT I BE

If I could be the sun
I'd radiate like Africa and
Smile upon the world
Intergalactic love laughter and
If I were the rains, I'd wash away the whole world's pain and
Bring the gift of cool like ice cream trucks on sunny days and
If I was the earth I'd be like mountains bountiful
And if I were the sky so high, I'd be like wind invincible and
If I could be a seed, I would give birth to redwood trees and
If I were the trees, I'd generate the freshest air to breathe in

If I could be you, you could be me
I could be you, you could be me
I could walk a mile in your shoes.....
And you could walk a mile in my bare feet

What I be, is what I be
What I be, is what I be
well, well, well, movin on!
well, well, well, movin on!
Do you love someone? Do you love somebody?
Love that one!

If I could be the leaves, then like jade I would stay evergreen and
Spread my limbs out wide and pull love so close to me and
If I could the roots, I would dig deep like ancestry and
If I were the fruits, you'd make the sweetest cherry pie from me and
If I could be the night, my moon replace all electric lights and
Magic music would transmit from outer space on satellites
If I myself could be the ocean, you would feel emotion all the time and
If I were the words, then everything that everybody said would rhyme

If I could be you, you could be me
I could be you, you could be me
I could walk a mile in your shoes.....
And you could walk a mile in my bare feet

What I be, is what I be
What I be, is what I be
well, well, well, movin on!
well, well, well, movin on!
Do you love someone? Do you love somebody?
Love that one!

Strawberry Fields - Beatles. I don't know why, I think I heard it (remade) on some commercial a few minutes ago.
