This makes no sense. And it applies to every political party, religion, race, gender, and orientation. Why do people who live in America and who absolutely hate this country STAY in the first place?

There's no one stopping them from immigrating to somewhere else so why don't these Americans move somewhere else if they abhor their own country?

good question. I think it's our freedoms and free market they hate and having a strong military. Some are working hard to change this country into a 3rd world nation because they think it is unfair that any country be stronger or richer than another. And that mind set filters down to our personal lives as well. If we are lax and let the"progressives" win the white house next year and stay in control of the senate (posing as Democrats) then we will see the downfall of a once great nation and become wards of the government under their control in every aspect of our lives. Gives me the shivers that so many are on the bandwagon to help this deformed way of thinking succeed

honestly if you ask me, everyone has there own opinions. some people were brought up to hate other races/nations, and some just end up disliking a whole group after disliking just one of them. some people look upon a whole nation after looking upon one person of that nation. it's basically in the person who sees america as it is. i'm an american, not by choice nor by force, i am i guess a permanent refugee of the vietnam war. i too have been to many countries in the world, mainly asia but some european countries as well but i have never seen this hatred even when i am with my american pals. and i agree with the fact that i too do not agree with some of the things in america but it is my home, and i respect peoples opinions as to whether they like americans or not since everyone is entitled to their own opinions. if you hate or dislike america for any reason, that's your problem. i guarantee that you didn't like something about your own nation at one time or another, but what can you do about it? not much unless you're the president or the king. but even then if you wanted something changed, you won't be able to please each and every person living in your nation. why people even hate each other is an issue that everyone always overlooks, why hate on other people because they're different than you? assuming that americans are ignorant and stupid is a stereotype as well, what gives you the right to call someone stupid or ignorant if you have never met them? do not say things about a nation after only meeting one american you disliked, because that makes you more ignorant. america stands for alot of things, freedom being one of them. everyone has their own way of freedom and way of life here. everyone has a different american dream, you can even say just a dream, i mean if you're french or chinese or canadian, you still have a dream about what you want in life. do not force your hatred onto people for having a dream. of course some people in america end up not ever reaching that dream, and end up becoming fat, lazy or even end up becoming homeless. sometimes the causes are self made, sometimes the causes are from the government, some cause just happen out of nowhere, but in life it's not guaranteed that you'll be successful, but what happens after you fall is what decides your future. do not hate on a nation for being completely different in anything or everything, what's the benefit to hating america? that's the better question for you who hate america so much or even just the slightest.

I would think anyone who lives in America, and enjoys its freedoms, probably doesn't Hate the country itself.

I would think that they might dislike a part or parts of it, but taking it as a whole, most who live here cannot say they HATE America at all....those who do, are simply biding their time until they have the means to leave, I imagine.

Disliking someone or something in a country, doesn't make you someone against a country, it only makes you someone who feels a country would be improved by not having something or someone in it that makes it less than it ought to be. That is called wanting a better country, which is also called patriotism in this country.

Think on that.

As a patriotic American, I want more tolerance in this country. How about you?

Goddess Bless.

If you are a poor person and hate America you probably do not have the financial resources to move to another country. If you are a rich person and hate America then you are a hypocrite for staying when you have every opportunity to leave.

Who "hates" America?

I think we're talking about people who have criticisms of America, who see faults with it. This is not "hating" by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, in many ways, it is love of America that leads to people to see faults and point it out. They know what America could be, and want to see it get better.

I've often likened it to love as we've experienced it in life - when we were younger, we loved our parents, and thought they could do no wrong, that they were the smartest, strongest, bestest. But when we grow up, we recognize their faults and their limitations. We don't love them any less, in fact we probably love them more when everything is in context.

So, finding faults in America, and wanting to see the country get better is no where close to hating. However, commentators who have to fill 3 hours of airtime a day, write a column a day, and find painting things in black and white terms ratings boosters, fall on that term.

Americans love to have the ability to speak their minds and recognize faults within our system. Just because we do not agree with the current administrations failures and outwardly speak up about Bush's inadequacy as a President does not mean that we hate America. It means we need a change not a change in location but a change in leadership.

Because they believe in the public's power to cause desired change.

Now, I do get sick of hearing about how people who occasionally criticize the government's doings hate America, or how people who dislike Bush's war, hate America. They don't. They simply want to see America act like the intelligent, mature nation that it should.

Those who truly hate America probably don't stay, or maybe a few who cannot financially handle a move stay, but there are MANY fewer America haters than you seem to think!

I guess you're talking about the people who back Bush and Cheney in trying to destroy the Constitution. Anybody that destroys the Constitution surely must hate America.

Where are these people?
Where are the people that say they hate America?
Are they on YA?
how bout a link.

The cat has been out of the bag for quite a while.
The Bush administration fabricated lies to justify invasion of Iraq.
You do know what a LIE is don't you?

The Bush administration EXPLOITED the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
The Bush administration wanted to invade Iraq long BEFORE 911.

The fear of America after 911 was exploited by the BUSH ADMINISTRATION.

You do know what exploit means...don't you?

Bush's Lies has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands.
And he continues to lie.

Just because the people don't stand behind the LIAR does not mean they hate America.

Because there is no place on earth that they could live better or more free.

They should, instead of hating this country, be trying to protect it. Our freedom has never been more fragile.

"You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done."--Ronald Reagan
