I am a freshman in Las Vegas. I take Geometry I Honors, Biology I Honors, and English I. I am getting all As or high Bs this quarter. I am misplaced right now in English. I am going to try to be in American Literature Honors next year. What is my chances of going to any of these schools? What steps do I need to take to go into one of these universities? I can afford it. Also, I went to middle school in NJ, all honors and straight A. Any suggestions of good schools I can go to? When do I take the SAT?

You have plenty of time.

If you continue taking honors & AP classes and continuing getting good grades, you will get into a great university. UC-Berkeley and UCLA are a little more selective than Rutgers -- so you will need a high SAT score to get in there.

You usually take the SAT at the end of your Junior year -- and then again in the Fall of your Senior year.
