breastfeeding and have period-like cramps for 3 weeks, no period and negative pregnancy tests.?

I am 35 years old and am breastfeeding our 5 months old son. My husband gives him one bottle at night but otherwise he is ONLY breastfed. I have been having period-like cramps (not heavy) for almost 3 weeks now but no period. I took a pregnancy test a month ago and again yesterday which were both negative just to make sure. I was taking the mini pill but stopped about a month ago because it was making me feel sick. We also use condoms as a back-up. We did fool around a little without a condom once about a month and a half ago but we didnt continue without a condom and I was taking the mini pill too without fail at the same time every day. I dont have any other sings of pregnancy either so I was wondering why I have period like cramps and no period. I have not started my period since my son was born but for the last few weeks, it feels like I am going to start but there is nothing other than the cramping. Is this hormonal?It is scaring me. I do to the doc Friday but I am worried

This could be related to coming off the mini pill. Like with other birth control pills it can take about 3 months for the body to fully adjust to being off the medication.
