Using phonics is a superior way to teach children how to read. It will give them a much more broad vocabulary base with which to learn. It will take a lot more time, but for the welfare of the children, well worth it.
My elementary education was long since over with by the time "Hooked on Phonics" ever even began. My school system, however, used the same principals for teaching children to read.

I didnt use hooked on phonics, but your homeschooling sounds like easy street compared to my former school, where do I sign up?

i wish i could say that it did, but i cannot even spell hoaked on fonics to save my life. but perhaps with all 3 of yours help I could do it, but it may take some spanking to get it into my head, do you think you could do that for me?
