Even innocuous questions seem to get deleted left and right and harmless honesty answers get zipped right off the page.

It seems that if someone doesn't like it it is yanked, even if unoffensive. It takes a minority of one to be offended and poof its gone.

When Y/A had their first blog about the "new & improved" violations, I read it, & there were as many loopholes as holes in Swiss cheese. What they had done, was enable trolls, & disable civil users. I posted (nicely!) on the forum, & Y/A deleted my post, but allowed postings hurling obscenties at THEM. What does this say?
They said they wanted the "community" to take responsibility. HOWEVER. One report of blatant abuse isn't enough. There must be reports from more than one "responsible user," whatever that means. I assume that otherwise, we'll get on the "crank" list. Many of the most serious abuses aren't even being reported, because we can't spend all day emailing our contacts for reinforcement. But guess what, the trolls have time, & multiple accounts. It's impossible to believe "violations" are reviewed by anyone. I understand they don't even advise you regarding what guideline was broken, & "appeals" blow in the wind. In spite of overwhelming support of users whose entire accounts have been wiped out, none have been restored. But the little gnomes are gleefully planning even more new features, that the majority don't want, & know there will be no "easy transition" as we've been told. What's it all about? Many of us stay here only because of the great friends we've made. Including those who had the courage to open new accounts after being zapped, & start all over. I'm weary of hitting my head in a brick wall, but I'm here for the longhaul & all we can do is the best that we can. Very, very sad.

Absolutely my friend... In my case it seems that the asker may not like the answer they received. I believe it stems from the fact that we live in such a P.C. society (newsflash) that yahoo is afraid to offend ANYONE, in combination with the fact that our P.C.ness is advocating a whole generation of over sensitive whiners. I mean, I have never seen so many kids raised in glass belle jars.

I would much rather see someone have the opportunity to voice there opinion, no matter how offensive, than see that opinion deleted.

I haven't noticed this lately. Maybe somebody has it in for you?

I remember not that long ago, it was still the Wild West on Y! Answers. You had to do something really offensive to get deleted back then. Now, maybe it swung too far the other side. A little bit of light trolling can be funny and brings comic relief. Whatever happened to the role of court jester?

You are absolutely right!! I had a question violated and deleted because I asked about the weather!! I had a friend that got deleted because she asked for prayers for her Grandmother after her Grandpa passed away!! Why can't they leave the innocent things alone?? They are not consistent in their judgements either!!

I had a song and a poem by Leonard Cohen (i.e. "A Thousand Kisses Deep") zapped off, because it sounded like sexual innuendo to "*someone*"!!!

True too bloomin' true - I get fed up with it and the appeals thing is the biggest joke of all.

You forgot to add inconsistent. Some answers you expect to get deleted and others get deleted for no valuable reason whatsoever.

Yes, People are so easily offended these days. Some people try to please everyone only to hurt everyone.

Hope this helps.
