If you're talking about a used car - "as is" means no warranty. What you see is what you get.

Probably the same meaning for other things.

Avatars refer to a concept that is not any different at all from your "real" name as also only concept. This is a spiritual question because, in fact, there is nothing such as a You that exists. The You/Me/I which folks think they are is a linguistic convention for something that exists only in a dualistic consciousness. Importantly and ultimately, there is not a You and Your Life. There is not God except as your dualistic consciousness thinks one up. Knowing this or even just acting as if this were true changes behavior in a positive way. Thinking there is a God usually (not always) results in the worst kind of behavior because of the divisive delusion and ultimate arrogance it is based on. The practice of remembering and reminding one's "self" this is usually called religion in the broadest sense. Kshetra means a field of action and a holy place - sometimes site of a war - which affects consciousness in the way that physics describes reality. The World Trade Center Site in New York is one such Kshetra.

if someone is selling a car on an "as is basis" it means they won't fix it up for you before you take it, you buy it the way it is right now, usually for less money.
Most of the time that means there is something seriously wrong with it, but that's the chance you take for paying a lower price.

It means that something is bought as it appears in reality--meaning if say someone is selling a car
"as is" would imply that for example if the brakes are bad, the seller isn't going to replace the brakes
if their is a flat tire-the buyer is responsible for fixing it before the car can be driven
etc.

"as is BASIS" means something is valued at what it would cost to replace it in its current depreciated state today. For example, if you have a 2003 car, it is obviously NOT worth what you paid for it new, so if it is totalled, it is paid for by the insurance on the BASIS-meaning value --of what it was worth ONE SECOND before it was destroyed.

if it's something that is sold "as is" or on an "as is basis" then it means you're accepting to buy something that is potentially damaged, whether the damage is small or large, and the seller is not assuming any responsibility for any needed repairs.

Usually that term is used with respect to a sale of something. It means that the seller offers it exactly as it is, without warranty or any promises, not even that it will work or isn't defective. It's how you buy stuff from a flea market or a second-hand store.

My name means "artful and creative". At least my mom says that that is what the baby book said. lol. Uhm, because...Our names give us a sense of identity in the physical world, and our souls are the source of our identity in the spiritual world. Therefore, in a spiritual sense, to be aware of one's own identity is to be aware of the nature of their own soul.
