NO!!!! Having a child like that is not the worst thing that could go wrong with a pregnancy. They grow to be fairly healthy people, so why would you want to terminate the pregnancy for something a little short of perfect?! Terminating a pregnancy is not considered "like an abortion", it is an ABORTION. However, if you were to find out that your baby had many of the more serious things that could go wrong, then maybe. There are too many things to list, but basically anything that would SERIOUSLY affect the quality of life that child would have.

NO I wouldn't terminate! I was given a handout about various prenatal tests (alpha-feto protein, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, etc.) and research shows that the results of these tests are many times inaccurate. I don't know why people even have these tests done. Would you really terminate a pregnancy based on a test result? What would be so terrible about having a baby with a disability? If you want to be a mother you can be a mother to anyone...regardless of the situation.

It is an abortion an heck no. The child is still my baby Down syndrome or not. The only reason people kill or terminate their pregnancy of a down syndrome baby is they are selfish and lazy!

i does not. it somewhat is a incorrect assumption that murdering somebody is greater useful than permitting them to stay with a incapacity. If that have been the case, then why no longer kill already-born infants or adults who've Down syndrome or another incapacity? because of the fact maximum persons a minimum of understand that regardless of their incapacity, they're human beings who've intrinsic rights such because of the fact the right to existence. this is a suitable which exists from the 1st 2nd of existence. it somewhat is barely in human beings's minds that there is a few synthetic branch between interior and outdoors the womb: interior this is not a guy or woman and outdoors it somewhat is a guy or woman. the certainty is that his or her personhood does not count on such unintentional circumstances yet independently. it seems that, no person has the right to be certain that yet another guy or woman's existence isn't properly worth living, and no person has the right to kill an harmless individual.

no, they have a right to a life too. If a person having a baby with down syndrome felt like they couldn't take care of their baby, there are people who would like to adopt a child regardless of the situation. I went to school with a girl that had fetal alcohol syndrome and she had been adopted by parents that stuck a lot of money into giving her a better life with surgeries and such.

i have to admit there are some serious birth defects i would have to think on it about but not downs. i don't think i could terminate for anything but i would have to think about it if ultra sound showed something that the baby would not survive note not may not survive i have this bad habit of reading these horrid story's while i am pregnant such as a lady who's baby's skull did not form and the brain got fluid in it and the baby died seconds after birth if i knew it would be something like that i would catch my self thinking about it but if they tell me there is hope even in the smallest amount i wouldn't even bat an eye i would keep the baby but if i was told there is no way the baby would survive out side of womb i would catch my self thinking about it

On August 27th my sister delivered a baby boy that was dx'd after birth with Down's. Her entire pregnancy she knew something was wrong with her baby, but Dr.s kept telling her he was perfectly fine. She is having a very hard time with this because this "is not what she ordered". Would she trade him for the world absolutely not----------he was a special gift from god and he will be loved by all who meet him. Down's children have the biggest hearts--we should learn to be like them. It is very inhumane to terminate a child's life----they to have a beating heart, just as you and I.

Never. Children with Downs Syndrome are just as much of a blessing in life as "normal" children. If God blesses me with a child with special needs, who am I to say "no thanks." Not to mention that abortion is murder and I simply could never commit such an act.

I am not pregnant but I have a five year old little sister with Mosaic Downs, and she is the most inspirational person I have ever met in my life. She is so loving and so forgiving, she teaches me things everyday, She has the most amazing personality and beautiful smile. I really could not imagine my life without her, she really has made me a better person.
So no!
