Why not, I think it can be nice. With so many names being made up these day, being named after a color is no big deal.
Here are some names that I like:

Xanthe (Pronounced: Zan-thee. Meaning: yellow)

Lavender is a beautiful name!
Violet is a good name.
I would name a baby Blu Ella or Blue Bella
I know a guy named Red

It would depend on the colour. Names like Scarlett and Ruby are beautiful names but I can't see people name their children a random colour. I think it could be even like naming your child a fruit "Peaches" or "Apple" -- this is something celebrities do for attention at the expense of the child's self-esteem.

Well I would never name my child Pink, Yellow, Green, etc., but there are some nice colors that could be used as a name.

I love the names Scarlett, Aurelia (which means golden), and Violet.
There's also Amber, Ebony, Sienna (brownish red) and Xanthe (meaning yellow/blonde) which are ok names really.
For a boy there's Bruno (meaning brown).

Azure! I love that name and would use it if my husband was on board with me. I think Sage is kind of nice too. Oh I like Violet and Ruby too.

Well, I've always thought Bleu (the French way) was kind of cool. I definately wouldn't name my kid Orange or Purple... just not my style

I like Grey for a boy and Ruby for a girl. that is as close to colors as I can get.
