I am sorry to upset your party, but no plans have been made. This is just a rumor that is going around. However there are plans to have a Cars themed area in Disneyland on 12 new acres of land and will be renovating some rides which is going to cost a little over 1 billion dollars. Plans are also being made to the Florida property. Disney will be making a shopping center on the Western Beltway. They only reason that I disagree with you on this question is that it would take away from Disneyland and Disney World. They would be loosing money instead of making money.

First, Disney had their annual stockholders meeting last week. If something was going to be announced, it would have been then. Second, Disney has a lot of land in Florida and California. Their focus is bringing people to these parks by adding attractions, and "fixing" California Adventure to be more Disney-like. If there's rumors about adding another park, it would be more likely to be in Anaheim or Orlando. Third, although attendance has been good at the parks on both coasts, a third park in Texas would draw folks from either existing park. While it might be more convenient for you to visit, Disney doesn't want their existing operations to lose money. Fourth, Disney has been rumored to be buying property and building parks in practically every state of the union, plus Canada and Mexico. It won't happen for all the reasons above. So no, there will be no Disney park in Texas anytime soon.

Hopes that turns out well for Frisco. About five years ago, the rumor was that Disney had purchased land near Streetman, TX on the I-45 corridor for the same purpose, also "approximately 5 years ago". All told by a very reliable source, of course. Still waiting to see it.

Again, as others said, we hate to burst your bubble, but there will not be a Disney theme park in Texas. They bought land to build a hotel, and you can bet they might have some sort of attraction or shopping type thing with the hotel but no theme park is coming. Sorry again to burst your bubble!

OK. Texas, and even the Metroplex have plenty to be proud of. They have had many world class athletic teams, and many famous people come from there. Before you even think about saying Texas is off the map, take a look as some other states. Some are only known as hick states.
Besides, I've been over in Frisco, and the last thing that they need is even more commercialization. Ever been to Stonebriar Mall? That whole area is a complete mess.

A Texas Theme Park Resort complex is NOT coming! A Disney Entertainment complex i.e. Hotel, Shops, and maybe an attraction yes, but a full Resort with theme parks and hotels no.
Shady, real estate developers sometimes start rumors like this so they can sell real estate at a premium!
If you want to know when Disney is going to build a new theme park you need to watch the industry sites that monitor chatter like this

Disney owns land all over the place, currently Disney is working on Disney brand hotels, they have already announced one on Maui. these are going to be hotels with a Disney theme but they are not theme parks. I don't know what you mean by "Disney universal" theme park, Disney and Universal are two completely different companies. The Walt Disney company owns two theme park resorts in the US, one in Anaheim California (Disneyland) the other in Lake Buena vista Florida (Walt Disney World), they own a large interest in Disneyland Paris, (Paris France) and are partners with the Chinese government in Hong Kong Disneyland. They do not own Tokyo Disneyland. Universal Studios theme parks are located in Hollywood, California and Orlando, Florida with another in Japan, Universal Studios is owned By General Electric. The two companies are in direct compitition for your theme park dollars.
Disney may be putting a themed hotel in Texas but they are not building a theme park there. They are spending a lot of money on California Adventure at this time and have stated they have no plans for another domestic theme park at this time. they have been looking in Asia for some time for another site, I would bet on Dubai for the next park. When they decide to build another park in the US it will be a third park in California or a fifth park in Florida. There is no need to buy the amount of land required to build another resort when they have that land available at both resorts now, and no need to compete with themselves.
they are not building in Branson Mo either.

this is not even a question. it's a statement which is completely untrue.
"disney universal" would never happen as they're competetors. just go to six flags over texas and pretend like you see mickey mouse instead of bugs bunny and cool rides instead of lame ones.
