One game they had for me at one of my baby showers was a basket filled with lots of things a new baby might need (Children's Tylenol, a pacifier, baby shampoo, etc) and at the start of the game, one of the hostesses walked around and let everyone get a quick look at the basket. Then they set a timer and everyone had like 1 minute to write down as much stuff as they remembered was in the basket. The person with the most items on their list won a prize. Afterwards, I got to keep the basket! It was great! There were tons of things in there! Probably 20-25 items.

Well, we did a chinese auction for various plants and stuff for doorprizes at mine. Two games I really love are feed the baby and another one I don't have a name for. For feed the baby, you need a large bowl of cotton swabs and a serving spoon, as well as another container, usually with a smaller opening that the spoon fits through, and a blindfold. Blindfold the player and give them the spoon. Give a certain amount of time(30 sec. or 1 min) for them to transfer as many cotton balls as they can from the bowl to the "baby". Winner has the most, we used a 1 bag of 100 cotton balls and counted the ones that didn't make it into the other container. Great fun for everyone. The second one was one where you get a baby sized doll, a fake or real cell phone and a diaper bag. Fill the diaper bag with everything a baby needs to go out or just some nice gifts(travel wipes, diapers, pacifiers, baby medicine, manicure kit, etc.) For the game, strategically set the stuff all over the room. Swaddle the doll, and give it and the cell phone to the player. Holding the doll, the player must "talk" on the cell phone while holding the "baby" as well as pack the diaper bag. You can set a time limit to see who gets the most, or time them and see who does it the fastest. And the diaper bag and accessories makes a great gift for mom to be as well. Ask your local bakery if they can make you pink sandwhich bread, you can use it for sandwhiches or canapes. Go to Pat Catans, they have a nice selection of streamers and premade banners, my "It's a girl" banner still hangs in my daughter's room. Good luck!

for my baby shower i made my own decorations in the invite i inserted a note asking for either their own baby pics or their childrens baby pics with names and d.o.b. I put them all around the house, on the bathroom door i put pics that had to do with bathtime and in the eating area i put pics that had to do with food and eating everyone loved looking at the pictures. I also got a sno cone machine and the trampoline set up for the children which was great cause all the moms were able to enjoy the shower and I had my brother and my hubby in charge of the children. One of the games that we played which was really funny is called bloomers we got 2 boxes each one with a prize then we wrapped each with about 4 layers of paper then u make a circle and somebody is in charge of working the radio (it's like hot potato) before u start u tell everyone that one box has a prize the other has a pair of undies (bloomers) each time the music stops who ever has a box has to remove a layer of paper at the end of the game whoever has the box with the undies has to wear them the rest the day, it was really funny watching all the ladies passing the boxes around trying to get rid of them i got a lot of my games from the internet but i can't remember the site i got them from good luck and have fun

Okay, I have to tell you about my baby shower that my sister just threw for me.
I too am having a girl and while my sister and I were brainstorming we came up with the idea of a baby shower tea party!!!
The party started in the mid morning ( 10:30 am ). The colors were bright pink and bright green. My sister got online and ordered teapots and tea and tea crackers.
We set each table like its own tea party. We had the teapot filled with hot water and each place setting had its own tea cup with honey stirring stick. In the middle of the table was a boquet of flowers. And around it was 4 countainers. 3 of them each contained a different flavor of tea and the forth contained instant coffee. We had a dish on each table that had individual packets of cream and sugar.
It was so much fun. Everybody experimented throughtout the morning seeing all the different teas they could brew up.
We served "pretty crackers" , coffee cake, and bite sized sandwiches. My sister also made some pink lemonade.
Anyway, it turned out soooo awesome. We bought most of the stuff ( all of the individual items ) at wal-mart,which can get costly but it was so worth it cause it was just too cute to have each table set up like a little tea party. Now I have decided to decorate my daughters room in a tea party theme!
Good luck..hope this helped.

We threw a celebrity/movie/entertainment themed shower. DId a matching game to match the parent to the freaky baby name. Then made cds of movie songs and played name that tune & movie it was from. Them gave those out as favors (itunes complained on how many we made, so had to switch some songs around) Also played kind of a pictionary/charades of movies and songs about babies.
Food and prizes were super easy. Did a nacho bar, popcorn, hot pretzels and dips, and lots and lots of candy. So then prizes were big boxes of candy and movie popcorn. Decorations were just stars and fun sunglasses.
I had big ambition to do a fake magazine cover as the invite, with a "jennys pregnant?" type headline like you see for J Lo, etc, but ran out of time.

I think you should do something to get all of the guests involved like "Hats" and have everyone wear a hat, or have a few different groups and have each group wear a different color. You can do games where the groups compete or everyone in each individual group competes against their team mates. Hope I helped a little, I am planning my own shower. Have fun!!!!!!!!!
