On Halloween (Trick-or-treat) night, do you hand out the candy to the trick-or-treaters, or do you let the trick-or-treaters help themselves?

I learned my lesson. You give them pieces. If you put the bowl down...they grab HANDFULS!

If none of your associates are going to have their light fixtures on, then the toddlers receives the message and in simple terms keep on walking. Is it incorrect to get excitement from giving out Halloween sweet? No. it truly is a calming vacation and they way we do it the following is one hundred % American. i understand a sturdy type of non secular those who hand out sweet and income from the relaxing. yet don't sense too undesirable. There are further and extra fall gala's at church and many times the community zoo has some element for the toddlers.

My parents just leave a basket outside for the kids to take. Better than getting up every time to hand candy out to a big group of kids every 15 minutes.

Always hand it out. There are the kids whose parents have taught them well and they only take a piece or two, but there are always the kids who take advantage and take more than they should. I remeber there was this elderly woman down the street when I was little and she couldnt keep getting up to hand out candy, but she always put a plastic cauldron with candy in it on her front porch, along with a sign saying "please take only three pieces" and the neighbor kids always took handfuls. It wasnt cool at all. I would take some candy out of my bucket and put it in her cauldron to make up for some of the candy they took.

In the past several years, this house has kept the lights out with the door locked, and we've pretty much laid low, especially on Halloween nights when my father had to work the bowling alley in Southport, and I was home by myself. I don't think this year will be any different.

Let them help themselves. If you're offering them the basket, most kids will be polite enough to take a few pieces...not more.
Give people the benefit of the doubt and if you run out, you run out. Don't give out any more candy after that.

I say if its little kids (Under 10) you can hold a bowl of candy out infront of them and say something like "Here, you can take a few pieces" but if the kids are older than 10 give it to them because they'll just take everything

Neither.

What you do is give them candy, put your hand in the kid's bag, grab a handful from their bags and then give them out to their fellow costumed friends next to them, or after they leave.

It is a nice trick if you are running low on the goods.
