I pumped gas back when they had people to do that! Made some excellent tips at it too. What do you want your first job to be? You do have a choice. Are you smart enough to tutor other kids your age or younger? Can you bus tables at the local choke and puke? How about tending gardens or cutting grass? The possibilities are endless. You are old enough to help older people out with housework (great for personal and professional references) but maintain a high level of integrity, because if you don't, word will get around that you are not honest (or whatever) and you won't get work by word of mouth.
Good luck.

My first job was working in a city park that streched about 5 miles. I had to deliver wood, clean toilets pick up papers with the pointy stick and bag, and close the park at 10pm. That was the worst part walking in the dark going into places and locking them up by my self at 15yrs old. There were cars parked on the grass and I had to tell them to move, that was sex education live. I finally quit because they made me work weekends and I had to drive to another park that was a gay hang out and lock it up in the dark. I got tired of opening the park at 8 am and working till 11pm with constant movement , too much for a 15 yr old.

I'm still working at my first job. I work at a buffet, and I was responsible for putting food out on the salad bar and preparing salads and all that stuff. I recently got promoted, so now I'm a hostess, so I seat people. Hopefully soon I can be a server and actually earn tips! Good luck with your job search.

I was 2 weeks into being 15 and I got a job at an answering service.
It was the early 80's, before answering machines and voice mail.
I loved that job!

My very first job was when I was about 5 years old, I walked around the neighborhood picking flowers from gardens and then selling the bouquets door-to-door. I used the money to get candy from the market down the street.

An assistant in a florist shop... but I was fired after only 2 weeks... why? Cuz I didn't TALK enough!!! The lady was a real flake! But I did enjoy myself tremendously! I loved the flowers, the customers, the plants, EVERYTHING about it!
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.
