You were eating meat for a long time before you realized exactly what you were doing. Looking at a meatball in some Spaghetti-O's didn't look anything like a cow. After so many years of eating meat there's a chemical habit there that's fairly difficult to break.
I think if it was up to you to personally slaughter a chicken or pig, you would become a vegetarian pretty quick.
Also, people with Type O blood typically crave meat more ferociously than the other blood types.
I've tried to become a vegetarian many times, but I still like my steak and cheese subs.

I think that anything you do to take steps towards the greater benefit of animals is a good thing. People who are anti-animal will call you a hypocrite but only because they are changing the subject and deflecting. If you eventually become a vegetarian, good for you, if not , why should that stop you from giving what you can to a great cause? Also there is a difference of killing an animal for food and treating it inhumanely, torturing it day after day.

If that were true the world would have a lot of bad hypocritical people in it.
I love all animals and while I don't eat meat often I've been known to enjoy a good steak occasionally.....and I think I'm a very good person.

Actually no...
There is nothing wrong with loving animals and eating meat. If you were to stop eating meat, you would get sick and possibly die.
Then who would be around to give more love to animals??
Besides if you were a hypocrite because of this, then how many millions of others could you point the finger at?? How many pet owners eat hamburgers? Steaks? Turkey? Bacon?

All humans are inherently bad, so we're all in the same boat. Being kind to animals and loving animals does not mean one needs to be a vegetarian. Animals were designed to be eaten, truthfully. You can purchase your meats from places that treat the animals well, for one thing.

No. You need to eat to survive.
It is the circle of life. I love animals and adore them as well.
It's not like you are eating an animal you adore. The meat we eat is from pigs, cows, chickens, and fish.
I think it is in some ways wrong but again, humans are on top of the food chain.
Everything has to eat something.
If we don't eat meat, we won't have protein and other nutrients. If we don't have protein, we won't be as strong, basically.

No---but the veg-ers will want you to feel guilty.
Some animals would become extinct unless they were raised for meat. Wouldn't that be worse?
Hon, GOD absolutely gave us meat to eat after Noah's flood----read Genesis in the bible.
He no longer cares what you eat or don't eat--he just cares how you treat other PEOPLE.
Peta & other groups who put animals ABOVE people are the hypocrites.

You are not a hypocrite or a bad person. Meat was put on the earth to be eaten by humans. If you do weird vodo to your pet dog and eat it then you are a strange person, but you are still not a "bad" person. Those may just be your beliefs, they may be disgusting but not bad. Loving animals and eating tham just means you love them inside and out=)

I do not think you are a bad person, just that if I were one of all the animals that you love I'd run like hell away from you if I so much as caught a glimpse of you. I bet you go to church all goody two shoes as well (I read the bible and in it it says 'thou shalt not kill') You decide for yourself love weather you are indeed a hypocrite, you don't need my answer really do you?

I believe that because we love our pets, it would be impossible to have them for dinner. Because we go to the grocery store and see meat wrapped up in plastic in the freezer, we don't associate it with an actual animal. Most people, having been raised this way, are able to eat meat because they were never introduced to the cow.
