if you want to do it yourself, but aren't confident, ask a local mechanic to show you how to do it and what tools you'll need. bribe him with beer or food. watch what he does and listen to his tips. then next time, you do it

The standard rule of thumb is 3 months or 3,000 miles which ever comes first. I don't use my car much so I wait till 3,000 miles. But the idea of "3 months" is that once the oil become acidic, it should be changed out so it doesn't corrode the engine parts. You should really get a car repair book (specific to your car). Beside the oil change, it will help you maintain the car better. The books cost very little ($15 to $25). Good Luck...

The oil filter is in front of car at bottom of the engine. I think they reccomend using a 5w30 oil. You can find out what type of oil to use from an autoparts store. Good luck.

With so many places around doing oil changes in 15 minutes or less, for 20.00 or less, I still don't change my own oil...:)
