After i go in to any gear if i try to speed up quickly the engine revs way to high (clutch fully released) as if i was in neutral, then the bike speeds up, but very slow, not like it use to. I think it is the clutch slipping but i dont know anything about bikes. It is a honda 2002 f4i, I was using the clutch allot to try to pull off some whellie's. So i think it is the clutch, yet i can take off fine just not very fast or the engine revs. do i need a new clutch or just an adjustment?

check the adjustment first, its easy. either get a manual for it and do it yourself, or go to a bike shop and ask them to show you how.
you may also want to change your oil as with a wet clutch, the quality of oil can affect the clutch operation.
if these dont work, time to change clutch

The guy who posted about you doing some reading and research about your own bike before asking a question is a idiot. I have a 02 f4i and is does not have a slipper clutch, period. Maybe he should do his own research first before he shots someone down for not knowing what he is talking about. Now to answer your question, most likely your smoked the clutch but it may just need an adjustment. Pull out the manual and do the adjustment yourself. It is a real easy job. If you do not have a manual they can be purchased from EBay for dirt cheap. Replacing the clutch is a bit of a bear but can be done if you are mechanically inclined and take your time, also helps if you do not get easily frustrated. I have never had to replace a clutch but a few buddies have and noone complained too badly so it couldn't be too bad.

Not going, probably gone already.
Wet clutches are built to be slipped on purpose, once in a while, and not under heavy load.
Adjustment may help, but only for temporary.
Chances are your plates are glazed.
For now, change the oil. Adjust the clutch. Cross your fingers.
Be prepared to do a clutch replacement.
Learn from the experience.

Your bike is a wet clutch system make sure you are using recommended oil for your bike wrong oil will cause it to slip if not. Easy fix buy a clutch kit Kevlar is affordable kit that consist of steel plates & fiber plates. pull your clutch cover off after you un hook your cluch cable loosen your clutch linkage then you will see your clutch basket pull all your plates out soak your fibers in oil and lightly take some sand papper over your steel plates wipe off your plates the first new plate will be a fiber then steel fiber untel you have no more slip your basket cover on clean pan cover put new gasket on bolt pan back on and make sure you tighten bolts in a alternate bolt patern snug slip cable back on adjust cable to satisfaction burn a tank of gas thru it before racing or riding it hard it will last alot longer with not a problem with standing that bike in the air with out a clutch slip. Enjoy and good luck.

99% the clutch is toast, if you are running a synithic oil in the eng. instead of a oil made for motorcycles you have a slim chance that changing the oil will help. As far as an adjustment for the clutch I don't belive you have one if it is a hydralic clutch instead of the older cable actuated ones. When you go and have your clutch replaced put the extra money up for a kavlar clutch, it will last alot longer and not be effected by the oils with friction modifiers added to them.

the Honda crotch rockets use a double acting slipper clutch, this clutch is designed to slip whenever ur abusing it. This clutch is a totally different design than the single action multi plate clutch used in a cheap cruiser or dirt bike.
I suggest you do some reading and research on how the clutch works on ur bike before you start troubleshooting it or asking someone whats wrong when they have no idea how that clutch works

nice one fuckin up ur honda while trying to do a clutch wheelie, you deserved it.
if you knew how toride you would know you can just pull a gas wheelie when you hit the peak in the upper revs. its bad for the bike too, but not as bad as a clutch wheelie.
