Spiders usually have eight eyes in various arrangements, a fact which is used to aid in taxonomically classifying different species. Most species of the Haplogynae have 6 eyes, although some have 8 (Plectreuridae), 4 (eg., Tetrablemma) or even 2 (most Caponiidae) eyes. So you both are right :)

Most spiders have 8 but some have 6 and rarely none.

it depends on what spiders
there eyes usually come in pairs
so there are usually 2 to 8 eyes on a spider , not odd numbers of eyes since they come in pairs though
