Your scrotum should not be the size of a pumpkin. Go the the Emergency Room.

A side effect of what? What happened before your scrotum began to swell? Is it your left/right scrotum?
If you were engaged in vigorous exercise prior to swelling then you are probably suffering from torsion of your spermatic cord. It hurts like hell and swells. You should get to the E.R. promptly, because if it's this you could lose your testicle. So go to the hospital now.
If this is real of course.
