Also:
Chicken soup, Tea Tree essential oil gargles and for bath & massage as well as lemon ess. oil (boosts up immune system, as does o.j.) and put in bowl w. H2O to disinfect atmosphere. Niaoouli ess. oil for throat problems and laryngitis. Echinacea, Selenium+Zinc,
Vick's inhaler for stuffy nose. Aspirin if headache.
Tsai tou vounou, tilio, sambouko + others teas.
Also, works great for an in coming or going cold: Garlic, parsley and lemon cut up. Yam! I do not mind if others do not want to eat it when I am eating it! No,but really, Parsley takes a lot of the Garlic smell away.
A little Tsipouro.
Fresh air.
Sleep.
Love.
etc
etc
Almost forgot! One Chinese teacher also does the following:
Boils Ouzo with ginger to drink and eats very hot peppers for colds.
E. Ne vevea k ventouzes.
Don't do all the suggestions at once though. You will get poisoned! Ha,ha

Hahaha,no you shouldn't worry about the food thing, now if you suddently feel the urge to fly or lay an egg then you should worry!!!LMAO!!
All the advices you got are good ones.Don't take anything that contains antibiotics without doctors permission(this is how we get antibiotic resisting strains of becteria and viruses).Rest, make sure your room has good ventilation.change the sheets on your bed regularly(every 2-3 days) and wash in high temperatures.Drink a lot of fluids, especially water.Eat healthy,'dress according to the weather and don't have your house/appartment heater on on very high temperatures(because you are cold). If you have problem breathing,or if you have productive cough(flegma) go see a doctor it might be a lower breathing track infection!!

I would say take it easy and drink a lot of fluids. you really dont need to take that much medicine. maybe for a little relief, but ive found that it makes me dizzy and gives me heart palptations. but whatever works for you. If theres a Wild Oats near you then get this stuff called Umkca or its spelled similair, and it shortens the length of your cold. So, in general, drink a lot of fluids (especially orange juice), maybe take some airbourne (you can get it at most CVS's its a natural immune system booster) and anything with vitamin C! And to keep from getting nasal drip keep your head eleated when you sleep. And if you really cant seem to get rid of it, go to a doctor. Good luck!

Well, I'm glad you came to the Greek section to find a cure for your Chinese cold. Maybe you have a sinus infection or picked up a bug of some kind on the plane where germs run rampant. If it has been two weeks and over the counter medications have provided no relief then maybe you could do something like....... go to a doctor!! Hot tea is always helpful for me.....the steam gets in my nose and helps me breathe better....also the tea soothes my throat.

Sounds too long to be a flu. If you have other symptoms like fever, cough with colored sputum,(yellow, green or brown) you need to see the doctor of course.
If all you feel is a little under the weather, it may be jet lug, that may take up to 4 weeks to go away.
A lot of rest, fluids, vit C, chamomile tea and avoid alcohol or caffeine, should do the trick.
Not to alarm you but in China there are all kinds of strange viruses that Europeans are not exposed to. Go to the WHO site(world health organization) and check what is cooking in China right now.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

I had a horrible cold sore one time that was just disasterous. I tried to use toothpaste and salt as well as isopropyl achohol to dry it out. I found that they didn't work so I finally broke down and bought some cold sore treatment stuff. It really helped and it went away within a day or so.

After 2 weeks you should definitely see a doctor. It may be just a cold, it may be allergies.
That's too long for a cold, usually.

Try to breath boiled eucalyptus and camphor. Eat many oranges and drink hot sage or tea. Try to drink water as much as possible. But in any case take some advice of a doctor.
