A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway is a love story during World War I. (For Whom the Bell Tolls is one by Hemingway during the Spanish Civil War.)
For the American Civil War, you could read Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell which has romance and so much more.
John Jakes' trilogy: North and South, Love and War, Heaven and Hell has love stories and shows what America was like before, during and after the Civil War.

ok, pay interest me out. attempt the Leviathan series by Scott Westerfield. it fairly is yet another universe contained in the technique WWI the position the Powers are stated as Clankers, and use steam punk machines to wrestle. The Allies are Darwinists, who use crossbred animals, like flying whale blimps. It sounds spectacular, yet you have to be intruiged immediatley. It has 2 different POV's. a million. Deryn Sharp. She's a lady interior the British Airforce disguised as a boy. She struggles to maintain herself below wraps, even as battling for the Darwinists. 2. Prince Aleksander. he's the only new newborn of the Archduke Ferninand. After his assasssination, he has to flee from his abode u . s . a . of Austria-Hungary to stay interior the direction of the introduction close to conflict. If he can benefit this, he will have the flair to fix the throne of his u . s . a .. a million/2 way interior the direction of the e book they meet, and albeit hate one yet another. it fairly is 3 books lengthy (Leviathan, Behemoth, Goliath,) and theres a ton of pressure. it truly is a the perfect option series and contain in reality as a lot action. you'll like it as directly as you get previous the unusual ingredient of it.
