Let me get this straight.
The #2 overall pick in the draft.
Some say he should have been #1.
He is not an every down back.
Can't run between the tackles.
Is averaging under 4 yards a carry.
Not the best Punt returner on his team.
Drops passes.
Oh wait he is a great decoy.
Is there a possition in the NFL called Decoy.
I can see the HOF speach. "he was the best decoy i have ever see. He did not have any yards but boy he could really fool people into thinking he had the ball.
And please stop with the too small excuse. He is 6 "0" 203lbs
That is either taller or heavier than Emmit, Bary, Warrick Dunn, Walter Payton, Tony D.
I woud not be suprised if the Saints draft an every down RB next year and make Bush a WR.
Just goes to show you that just because a play racks up number at a big time school does not mean he is all that. You have to take into account the players around him and the poor over matched teams he plays against.
You can't out run everyone in NFL

Exciting???
When it comes to judging a running back it all comes down to 2 things
Yards Per Carry
Rushing yards.
Everything else is a bonus. Great if you have the 2 main things, terrible if you do not. You can win with a RB that has a high yards per carry and alot of rushing yards but is not a good WR out of the back field.
You cannot win if your main RB can catch but can't run the ball.
Funny but the back up RB broke off a long TD run with that OL that every one is complaining about.
For all his flash it seams that Bush lacks vision. Seems that when he is running the ball he in not able to take it to the house in the the NFL.
What is his longest TD run when lined up at RB maybe 7 yards? I am not talking Reverses were he is lines up as a WR.
Hell I would take the little RB from Jacksonville over Bush.

do not put Faulk and Bush in the same sentence.
Faulk was a great Running back that also happened to be a hell of a WR.
Look at his rushing yards and rushing average.
you could line Faulk up in the back field and he would carry the team.
He ran between the tackles.
A running back does not take 3 or 4 years to develope.
Once he is given the chance to carry the ball he is what his numbers say he is.
Yards PER Carry Tell it all.

Ther has only been and there will always be 1 Barry Sanders.
Great to watch but do not try and immitate.
He actually did everything wrong but because he was so special and his OL sucked (yes there were not that good) he was able to get away with it.
He averaged 5 yards a carry.
Wow only Barry Sanders, Jim Brown and Bo Jackson.
Bush needs to try and be Tiki Barber and stop trying to be Barry Sanders.

Reggie Bush:
6 games
86 rushes
298 total rushing yards
49.7 yards/game
3.5 avg per carry
22 longest run
2 TDs
3 fumbles
1 lost fumble
His longest reception is 17 yards and has 1 receiving touchdown.
Has a $50,000,000 contract. Is that all you really have to do out on the field and made a cool 50 mil?
He's a bust all right. Can't run in between the tackles, will never be an every down back, overhyped, and overrated.
Players always whine that they are not paid what they are worth....can New Orleans rework his contract and pay him the league minimum????? That's all he is producing for them so it should be fair.

Reggie Bush isn't as big of a bust as Matt Leinart and Vince Young, thats for sure but I doubt he'll ever be a top 5 running back in the league. Guys like Mojo and Michael Turner, and Deangelo Williams have a much brighter future in their career. They are also big enough to take a hit. He has an average arm, maybe 55 yards. He WAS accurate in college, but this is the pros. Maybe a little bit.

Bush's value is as a slash player WR/RB. he is best when he gets 10-15 rushes and 10 passes thrown to him.
Bush is not and every down NFL RB he is a compliment to duece mcallister since mcallister was hurt he is not as effective. to be an every down rb bush will need to put on about 10 - 15 lbs of muscle and that will also slow him down a bit so its a double edged sword
the way the texans defense has played at times the texans looked like they made the right team pick when they passed on reggie bush. in a year or 2 the texans might have the best defense in the nfl
** barry sanders avg 5.0 per carry because he was taken out on short yardage and goal line when the yards are tougher to gain and you can't get to the outside as easily which was sanders forte. the lions took him out on short yardage becaue he was just as likely to lose 2 yds as gain 2yds. jim browns 5.0 is more impressive but then he was bigger than most of the DL's and LBs trying to tackle him

Reggie Bust-o-la! It cracks me up when these Bush appologist say, "He's only been in the league for 1 1/2 years". Good runningbacks are good from the first game. Dorsett, Smith, Sanders, Dickerson, Sims, LT - you name them and they were great from the first game and went well over 1,000 the first season and averaged well over 4 yards per carry. McCallister was averaging way over 4 yards in his career with the Saints who have the best young O-lineman in football Jamal Brown, by the way. Face the facts people - Reggie just sucks! If I hear one more person say, "They aren't using him the right way", I'm going to turn blue in the face. You guys sound like the people who were making all these excuses for Mike Vick's behavior.

Is Reggie Bush overrated? Yes. But you know what... fine by me!
New Orleans has always had a confidence problem- sometimes they get overly cocky and can't produce but a lot of the times they just don't believe in themselves and stop trying. Bush is good for morale. Anytime the guy does anything out on the field (in a home game) the entire dome cheers "Reggie! Reggie! Reggie!" and that surge of energy gets the team going. The Saints need someone to believe in. And so what if its an overpayed second year kid?

i wouldnt call him a bust yet, but hes not living up to expectations.
he came into the league with everyone expecting him to make big plays.
i think hes too focused on making a big play, rather than just picking up solid yardage.
in college, most of his 50-60 yard runs were outside runs where he outran everyone up the sideline.
however, in the NFL, you cant do that. the DB's are fast as hell, and they're so much smarter.
bush may see a 5-6 yard gain inside, but he'll decide to bounce it outside looking for that big run, and he'll get stuffed by an OLB or a CB.
and to think, he wanted to be the only RB to wear #5.
if tomlinson had to change numbers, he shouldnt even ask.

I'd give him another year and see how he does the rest of this year, it's not really fair to call him a bust, because the talent surrounding him is so crappy, Don't forget when the Edge went from being an 1800 yard rusher who averaged 4.6 YPC, to a 900 yard rusher who averaged 3.6 YPC. Reggie Bush will be pretty good, just give the Saints some time to clean up their act and he will probably be a perrenial 1500 yard rusher.

I called him a bust when he scored that worthless TD in the NFC championship game last season against the Bears. He taunted the defensive back chasing him and did his home boy dance in the end zone. All it did was prove two things to me. One: He was a classless little punk. And Two: Never piss off the opposition. From that moment on the Bears beat their brains in.
Bush is nothing more that bush league.
