It is in North Central Manhattan in New York City. It is mostly between about 110th Street and 135th Street including the North/South avenues of Lenox Avenue and Broadway. The main cross street is 125th Street.

At one point it was considered one of the most elegant areas to live in. Then it became one of the most dangerous. Now it seems on its way back again.
