Hunter and Warlock are the best solo classes.
Both have pets, which can attract aggro for you. Both are ranged, which prevents a lot of damage. Warlocks are more DOT, and hunters are more burst damage. Hunter's have several holds, and warlocks have FEAR!
Both can do equally well, just would you rather play a ranged caster, or a ranged warrior? (Warlocks do have a little trouble starting off, but once they hit level 10 and can summon the Voidwalker, they come into their own as a solo class.)

Well, if u want to stic to a prieast and doo good DPS become shadow. I have a 62 Hunter, 34 Shadow Priest and a 19 twink Shaman. All i cna tell u is the shadow pries is alot of fun to solo wiht and its actaully pretty easy. If u would like to have a pet wiht you then a hunter is a great choice. You can Dps ALOT and u can domintae lvl 70s at lvl 62(I tried and i win every time). So really it is on ure shoulders. A Spriest for DPS and massive damage or a Hunter wiht DPS as a BM or Massive Bow dmaage wiht Marks. So really id try Spriest First. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A FUN TIME!

I have to agree with the above post. Hunters and Warlocks are excellent solo classes, just because your pet can soak up all the damage for you. I also have to throw out the Paladin...I've been playing one for almost two years now, and a good Prot-specced Pally can solo almost anything. It's not the fastest way to kill a single enemy, but you can kill 5-6 in the same amount of time you can kill one. And about your priest, don't be discouraged at the thought of healing. Shadow Priests are excellent damage dealers, provide excellent utility in a group, and are generally a fun class to play with. They can also hold their own in PvP.

Priests don't have to heal. That's just one of their specs. I like the other person's idea, becoming a shadow priest, but you still have casting time and low HP, so it's hard to cast. Good for soloing without direct contact are hunters and warlocks, yet shamans I hear are also very good at soloing. I hear of level 30 locks soloing places like BFD and RFK all the time.

Hunters have been the best soloing class forever!!!!! This may sound like just my point of veiw but it realy is true. hunters have their own personal meat sheilds and unlike warlocks have little need for mana (when grinding) BTW spec BM.
P.S. Rogues are a close second.
Also if you want to level a priest w/o being a healbot go shadow.

Hunter and warlocks. This is because they both have pets, which is like having someone with you constantly. I would reccomend hunter because they can wear leather while locks only have cloth.
