well... i would like to think that i would say "thanks but no thanks" but unless i was fearful of them, i would probably just accept it with a smile and say oh ok thanks! i wouldnt want to hurt their feelings if i didnt have to. :)

That stranger will strike a conversation before he /she gave her phone # He might be a car salesman, lawyer etc.. If it is scary to recieve a phone # from stranger ,it is more scary to hand a Phone # to a total stranger for no reason at all.

Probably take it to be polite, make sure he wasn't following me, go home and look the number up on google and then if found, search his name online to see if he was an offender of any kind. All that just out of nosey curiosity of course :-). Beyond that, if nothing bad was found to report, throw it away (I am happily married), and if I ever came across him again, let him know I am involved.

Depends.If they weren't a lot older or younger than me and seemed like they were really interested in meeting me,I'd give them a call,and,if iIhit it off with them on the phone and was interested in knowing thembetter,would arrange to meet them in a public place.

Maybe I would call him. If he wanted to meet me, I would meet him in a public place, and be with a group. Be cautious. Or if I feel uncomfortable, with my first impression of him, I would throw the number away.
