First of all, it's a documentary; second, it isn't new. Third: It's frightening because it's the truth. All you have to do is look at before and after photos of mountain ranges and glaciers around the world, including Mount Kilimanjaro. That's likely the clearest picture of what's happening. It's ridiculous to pretend we're not experiencing environmental shifts. I've been around more than a half-century, and I'm fully aware of seasonal changes.
In the wake of "An Inconvenient Truth", which won an Oscar for Best Documentary of the Year, we have heard of numerous problems:
1) the continued disappearance of frogs~a dire warning that was discussed years ago in the "X-Files" episode "Quagmire" (Big Blue)
2) news that, should ice continue to break up, polar bears may be extinct within 50 years~The creatures have been drowning in increasing numbers.
3) wildfires throughout California, which could cause major atmospheric problems
http://www.lbl.gov/Science-Articles/Archive/climate-cal-fires.html
4) Great Lakes dwindling at a startling rate~This was covered in another documentary, one produced in that region.
one article: http://www.redorbit.com/news/science/967389/the_case_of_the_disappearing_great_lake/index.html?source=r_science
5) reduction in bee species
http://cte.jhu.edu/techacademy/fellows/Elrod/BeeQuest/ceindex.html
I'm certain others could add to the list. The problems are escalating and cannot be ignored or shrugged off. Keep making fun of the warnings; I'm sort of hoping I'll be out of lifetime before we get to where I'm so afraid we are headed. I know most of you won't care, but maybe some will read the information, including this:

I've seen segments of the movie in various TV channels . it is fascinating and it is obvious that Al Gore did a tremendous job to make that movie . he is right about the climate change and the impact it will have on the globe but i think the movie concentrates mostly on the pollution and the rising temperatures as an inevitable result . but in my opinion that is not the only danger the earth is facing . earthquakes are increasing as well and they have nothing to do with pollution or may be the do . who knows? . nuclear arms now are spreading and if two small nations used them against each other they may cause destruction of the earth , pollution or no pollution . i have to say i rushed this answer without seeing the whole movie .

A judge in England has ruled it cannot be shown in schools unless the students are told that it is biased and represents only one side of a controversial issue. The teachers must specifically point out 9 assertions in the film that either cannot be proven or are outright untruths.

New movie?!?
It has 9 known, documented, falsehoods, and a number of exaggerations.
In fact in the U.K. if the film is presented in school it must be preceded by a disclaimer.
Half of the film is about the environment and the other half is about poor Al. Let's all feel sorry for Al.

I found it interesting, but I think he is a little overdramatic about it and stresses too much on what the government "can do". All in all, though, it was good.
