I have never done any exercise before and now I am trying to start slowly.Just for time being I am doing very light exercise at home. So, in basic exercise press up is the main thing.I have got couple of my friend go to Gym regularly and they show me how to do light exercise and press up.So,whenever I try to do Press up it doesn't happen. While doing press up I can go down but when i try to come back to previous position I can't stand up my body on my hand even I force with all of my energy.I can do all other exercise.I am a normal person without any disability. My friends are saying that my hands are weak but I don't believe that.Is it a problem of my body or I haven't got that much energy or Stemina? Is there any alternative that I can get the same benifit instead of doing press up?Thanks

What's up. I work out 5-6 times a week depending on my schedule.

Let me give you some tips:

When doing a pushup, the farther your arms are spread, the more it works your chest. When your arms are closer in, it works more of your triceps.

If you can't push yourself up, you might be in a wrong position or you might be out of shape. It's not hard to fix.

For posture: look straight ahead when going up and down. Feet touching and legs straight.

For working your triceps (diamond pushup), angle your hands infront of you and make a triangle shape with your thumb and index finger with other fingers touching. Think of it as the thumbs making the base and the fingers make the other 2 sides. NOTE: people who do normal pushups find this extremely hard for the first time.

Since you can't push yourself up when you are all the way down, try to find your limit of how far you can go with pushing yourself up. Slowly work towards being able to touch your chest to the floor. Remember to look straight as it will keep your back straight.

Do other exercises such as dips, crunches, and sit ups. Goodluck mail me any questions.

i'm guessing press up is the same up push up

do it on your knees, do 10 or 20 then rest
and try to do it 3 times aday

or do it at a slant, like on a chair so you're not lifting your entire uppper body's weight

eventruylly, about 2 weeks or 2 months, you'll be able to do a push up

I think you mean PUSH UP, not press up. I would suggest small weight lifts that strengthen your arm muscles, and then try push ups again a few weeks later.

don't give up you just keep trying and it will be one at a time until you get it right. try putting your knees on the ground to get started and work from there.
