To make it into the NBA, first you need to be the best player in your area. Now that might not be too hard depending on where you live, because it is much harder to be the best player in LA than it is to be in Podunk, Oklahoma. So let's put a nice round number on it. Be better than the 700,000 in the area closest to you. The next way is to get some skill by going to College for more than one year. No coach can teach you everything that you need to know about Basketball in one year. It normally takes two or three. Some good BBall colleges are UConn, Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, and Georgetown. Practice Constantly, because if you want to be a master at your game you must be focused and concentrating on your goal all of the time.

Practice, Practice, Practice. You have to live with a basketball in your hand. Every free second of time you have dribble, shoot or do conditioning. If you want to go pro you have to live basketball and want to play it every second even if its 2:00 in the morning. YOU CANT BE LAZY.

It takes a different kind of work...work you don't become familiar with until you're already there. It's not all about practicing dribbling, passing, shooting etc. Looking elsewhere will get you there.
