I am not exactly sure if this is more prominent before you get your period but I have this hard tissue on my left side of my left breast that aches. A bit of a dull pain that is tender if I press on it. This feeling is never on my right breast but only occurs on left. There is no specific lump for when I got an exam a while back the doctor said it was hard tissue. Why does it hurt... Is it because I lay on that side or is it from bras or because I am right handed? Soon I will have an exam but was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms or would know what to ask for.

The breasts can change in size a bit before the period comes. Sometimes the size change can cause pain and tenderness.

I have also had some issues with my left breast in the past 10 years and it ended up being related to a condition called costochondritis which is an inflammatory condition of the cartillage around the ribcage.
