Are we who we are despite everything, and that changes our experiences? or Are our experiences always the same and we change with them? or is it a little bit of both, We are changed by our experinces, but they are also changed because of us?
Please explain why you have a certain opinion...

I think experiences make us who we are but because of those certain experiences I make different choices based on those previous experiences. For example, if 'X', 'Y', and 'Z' happened to me and when confronted with a problem I might do 'A' but let's say only 'X' and 'Z' happened to me then confronted with the same problem I might solved it by doing action 'B'.

because as we gain knowledge
and experience then this how we make
the experience. It is like history
we are all part of the past which makes history

Different experiences happen to us, which we experience in different ways! Then according to our opening of mind, we use them efficiently and get experimented to understand what to do with that! In essence, experiences are what we are and become with the best of our knowledge!

An experience is a perception of something having happened to us. But they make us only in as far as we let them, consciously; or in as far as we have no ability sub-consiously to avoid letting them affect us.

I think it is a little of both. Sometimes you look for things to happen but no matter waht it is going to happen.
