I believe in God. The Bible is full of contradictions and is written by man. I believe in what is said in the New Testament because there's more messages of love.

That's a very oddly worded question.. I mean, I believe that the bible exists, yes. But do I believe in what the bible says? I don't know. If I do, I don't think all the stories are supposed to be taken literally but the moral is supposed to be taken in. I really couldn't say if I believe in the bible or not.. But I think it's brilliant that people can take strength from it. Even if you can't (and I don't really think I can), you can see that there are many people who can and do, and if it helps them, then it's serving it's purpose, in my mind. My mother is a Catholic and my father C of E.. I went to a C of E primary school so I had my Church-goer years.. I actually think those years inhibit me from really believing in the Christian God (and thus, the bible) which in a way, is a shame. I think it would be nice to believe in Heaven and to believe that dying is not the end, but the beginning of your whole life.
I apologize for this mini-rant, I don't know how well it will read and I don't really want to read it myself.. Basically, I find it hard to believe there is nothing beyond us. But if there IS something that created us, then what created that? Surely there's got to be a first cause? Can creation go back to infinity? Will we ever know?? Does it even matter? So many questions.. Well, thankfully all our little ones can be answered by Yahoo Answers, anyway!

Yes and No. Double edged sword. I believe in God and Jesus. I do however think that parts of the bible were written by man to control people in a time where there was a lot of Chaos. I was raised Catholic and I have a hard time believing that I will go to hell if I eat meat on a Friday. If that is the worst thing I do...then I am lucky and should be a saint LOL.

which one? the old testament is a different document to he new testament.
the OT is a set of "guidelines" which, if followed, allow communities to coexist. the rules are simple, and i believe theres 10 of them... 10 simple rules....
only Man, took a simple premis, and manufactured a sequel... a twisted corrupt sequel... which has been held aloft as THE guiding light... which it isnt... or, more to teh point, i dont believe it is.
nowhere does the bible say, thou shalt kill in my name... nor enslave nations, and put them to the sword... which makes accepted religion quite hypocritical, doesnt it?
i acept the lessons and observations of teh bible, i just dont accept the proffered explanation of it all... my God is a construct of my own intelligence and common sense...and yes i have read the bible, many times. but i see it as a reference book... and i see a different picture...
i know why im here
i know what my purpose in life is
and i know what happens when i pop my clogs... and its probably like nothing you have ever considered...
yet, for me, its enough...

Yes. Because I've studied the Bible for many years and I have actually seen things happen that were predicted or shall I say fortold in the Bible. Plus, I believe it's the written word of God.

why:
that is a really long answer but here it is in the condensed version
the evidence (yes there is evidence) for the New Testament more then shows that it is accurate, true and historical - Jesus was real and what He did was real - proving the rest of the Bible starts with Him

I personally do, yes. I grew up Christian and I strayed for several years. I felt like I was pushed toward Christianity. I came back to Him about 2 years ago.... I can't even begin to explain on here the difference it's made in my life. I can feel the Lord in my heart. Not something you can understand unless you feel this. It's like things just fall into place. Whenever something seems to go wrong, they go right. I'm so happy. I even got the strength to leave an abusive relationship. I prayed and prayed and prayed. Things got worse, then got better... almost like He was testing my patience. Would you believe people even tell me I look better? they actually look at me and say I look so much better. When I read the Bible, I feel at peace. It's not even JUST the things Jesus has done.. but when you read his words, it's like "wow". Just his metaphors alone. He said one thing and it makes alot of sense. It's just an example of some of his sayings. He said "It is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than for a rich man to inherit the kingdom"... just things like that make me think.
EDIT::::::::
To Jennifer S., No one believes you'll go to hell for eating meat on Friday. It's about giving something up that you enjoy for the purpose of showing thanks to God. It's not like a big rule. It's just a gesture. DUH

For the good of everybody, I hope that the bible is right,
I really hope, because if not we are all lost.
Even if sometimes there is no sense , is better to believe it .
Bible at the end is HOPE.

why would you not believe it. it is written and makes certain statements and recounts what people saw or claimed they saw. that would be like saying do you believe the buddha's final sermon or plato or shakespeare. what? the wrote things down and we read them. what is the problem. do you believe the us constitution or the magna carta? what kind of question is this?
very puzzling.
