I live in Louisiana and visit Mississippi a lot. Here are a few tricks!

"Jackson" had a "Rouge" for "Baton"

Generally, trying to remember tricks is more of a chore than remembering what the tricks stand for.
The capitol of Louisiana is Baton Rouge
The capitol of Miss. is Jackson.

Well, for Baton Rouge, Louisiana, how about association? For example, "Rouge"-think of the makeup women apply. so, Rouge is for LOUISiana (Louise, get it?) That helps me.

for Jackson, Mississippi, same kind of thing, but a sentence (this is how I remember things) ex: "Jackson, Miss Isipi called..." you get the idea...good luck!
