Every war, we are allies. Why do people talk down about them?
Le culture du France c'est magnifique, mais le culture d'Etats-Unis c'est magnifique, aussi! Ou est l'harmonie? Nous sommes une personnes!
Translation: The culture of France is magnificent, but the culture of the United States is magnificent as well. Where is the harmony? We are one people!

Well, if I can say a word or two:
I'm French, I love your country, I love many americans for they are open people, they are friendly and without that arrogance so often described in the average american.
I take a shower each day, I love to take my bath with my Chanel n°5 and not in a bathtub full of camembert (I don't even eat cheese or drink wine) and for the ignorants: French fries maybe named French but here, we all know that the pommes frites are from Belgium and we don't call Belgian names for inventing them.
I've been against the war in Iraq, not for cowardice (we have troops in Afghanistan), but I thought it was an enormous mistake at the time, and I still feel sad for the poor soldiers who are stranded there, for their families who live in fear. I was watching tv on 9/11, an amrican movie, when it was stopped by the images of the world trade center attack. I had no idea it was a terrorist attack, but I was crying all the same. We have the same ennemies, sometime, we just disagree on how to fight it.
We are allies, just not poodle allies.
And I still love America even if some Americans despise us.

Mostly, I think, because the French have a mind of their own and don't just go along with whatever we ask them to do. ie going to Iraq.
Also Americans keep mentioning helping out/saving the French in WW2 but conveniently forget the role of France in our independence from the Brits. Personnally I thank the French for not having to bow to a stupid queen and for not drinking tea every afternoon.
Cette question aurait ete mieux sur le site anglophone.

Americans are not against the French. SOME Americans were so arrogant as to think that France was anti-American for refusing to jump into a senseless war, just because some senseless American leaders said they should.
As you might have noticed, more and more Americans are now noticing how senseless the war has been and how senseless the leaders are. And some Americans who blindly jumped on the anti-France bandwagon are back to eating French Fries again, instead of Patriot fries.

It seems the French tend to be cold toward toward Americans. Some French people are nice, but in general we sense some coldness coming from that direction.
Edit: And I'm not referring solely to the reaction of French toward the Bush administration.

I don't hate the French anymore. With the way things have gone down in Iraq, I think they made a smart decision to stay out of it completely. Bush is the one who was stupid.
