x + 6/x = -7

Multiply by x.
x^2 + 6 = -7x
x^2 + 7x + 6 = 0

Factor
(x + 6)(x + 1) = 0

So, x + 6 = 0 or x +1 = 0.

x = -6, -1

x+6/x=-7

or x^2+6=-7x
or x^2+7x+6=0
or x^2+6x+x+6=0
or x(x+6)+1(x+6)=0
or(x+1)(x+6)=0
or x=-1,-6
