Hey, I am a junior in high school with a really bad past behind me.
I really want to get into NYU, however, during my sophomore year of high school I fell into a depression from which I just recovered. Let's just say I screwed up big time. I have to repeat a course, thats how bad it got.

but here is my "resume"

G.P.A. (as of right now)- 2.9 (it was a 3.7 my freshman year....I did really bad sophomore year.)
I've taken all honors, except for geometry in freshman year.
I failed Honors algebra 2 in 10th grade, I'm repeating regular algebra 2 this year.
I really want to major in journalism or law.
I'm in Student council, Asian student Union, Big Brothers Big sisters, FBLA and class council.

I have all A's this year though =] (so far)

I know my chances are really slim, But i've been trying really hard this year, and I would love to go to NYU.

There is a chance. Write an amazing essay and use it to explain your sophomore year. You have a really high SAT score, which will help.

It will be tough for you to get into NYU. If you do get straight As and have a really high SAT score, then you have a chance. You will need to address your sophomore year in your admissions essay.

In the mean time, think about other schools that are more likely to accept you. You should get into something pretty good.

you certainly have not aimed too intense. you're able to have a good danger at maximum of those, and from what i understand approximately Boston college you're incredibly a lot sure to get in there. it can be a stretch so which you would be able to get into the three Ivy League colleges which you utilized to, as the two your SAT scores and GPA are heavily below the averages there. besides the shown fact that, they do tend to be much less complicated on minorities, so which you're able to also have a shot there.
