I realized just last week that I have a yeast infection. I've been meaning to get it checked out but I don't want to approach my family doctor about it. (I want a gyno to take a look but most of them need a doctor referral). Two days ago, I started bleeded. I thought I might be getting my period but it hasn't gotten heavier (my periods follow a very predictable pattern). The symptoms (itching, redness, cottage-cheese discharge, etc) started clearing after the bleeding started.
If it is my period, could it be helping the infection?
If it isn't, could it be another symptom of another type of infection?

It sounds like an infection but there's really no way to tell without being examined by your doctor. There are so many things that could be happening here and it could range from being very simple to very serious. You should not delay seeing a doctor. Don't waste time feeling embarrassed because delaying only makes the problem worse. Don't try to diagnose yourself. Go to the doctor ASAP.

I just got done reading that having your period will help with the infection because it returns your vagina to it's normal balance. Here is an excerpt from the website below:
Is a yeast infection dangerous?
Yeast infections can cause severe discomfort but rarely cause serious health problems. Left untreated, vaginal yeast infections often clear up on their own, usually when menstruation begins. Menstrual blood raises the vaginal pH, causing the number of yeast cells to decrease because they can't grow in the pH present during menstruation.

R period is very unpredictable as it takes 1 yr on it before u can calender it properley, but still do so. No r period wudn't do it, & no it sounds just like a Yeast Infection. Can U go 2 r Dr. without paying? If not go to the Pharmacy & buy Monistat, Monistat 3 if u can. (we have in Canada) If u don't feel comfortable doing that, see r Dr. & tell him u'd like a referral for a GYN, asks why tell em? No worries r Mom hears about it, she can't! "Patient & Dr. Confidentiality" & tell em u don't want r Mom knowing! Think he wants to lose a whole family coming to his practice for yrs. Noooooo Good Luck! lol Hope I've helped a bit? & Plse go Dr. ASAP

Yeast infections are extra hassle-free in the time of being pregnant because of the certainty that being pregnant suppresses the mummy's immune gadget and their is a bigger concentration of glucose in the vaginal partitions feeding them little microbes (awwlll, not truly.) I truly have in straightforward terms had 2 in my being pregnant, and the two a form of have been in the 0.33 trimester--in spite of the incontrovertible fact that i became into on antibiotics for 10 days in the process the 2d trimester--i did not get one! Who hoo! in any case, that on my own isn't a demonstration of being pregnant. you will possibly are starting to be a yeast an infection from bowel an infection, antibiotic utilization, the summer season warmth (definite, that's actual), a moist bathing suit, not top drying after showering, or donning tight setting up clothing. A extra telling sign is the breast tenderness, that's actual a demonstration of being pregnant. Wait some days and get a being pregnant try, or go into the healthcare professional and get one executed as quickly as you want to. The yi could be an factor results of the being pregnant, or it could not.

It could be a VD, if you are having sex. You can still have your period when you have a yeast infection, it does not do anything bad, it is just uncomfortable. You need antibiotics to cure the infection asap!

symptoms are lessened because of the flow of blood, they will return when the flow stops.
you really don't need to see a gyne, just get some Monistat at the drugstore and use it according to package directions, you can use it during your period. But if you do would extend the use a few days beyond the period.
