Opium while non toxic, nor causing people to behave violently, in the old days was a major health problem. Why? Well when people are on opium they lose the need to eat, and many opium addicts starved to death. So, if you want an illegal drug to help you lose weight that would probably be the best one.
However, there are much easier ways. I've worked with a lot of fat people as a part time job to try and help them lose weight since I learned a lot of things from reading alternative health sites, and was able to get the job done sucessfully, despite the fact they had been on lots of diets over and over.
Really simply put, If you want to lose weight, you need to stop eating lots of carbs (especially simple ones), and sugar (especially artificial ones ie splenda/aspartame). Exercising, and avoiding fatty foods (such as macdonalds, but suprisingly, most "fat" in food isn't actually bad for you or makes you fat) matter too, but its mostly an issue of sugars and carbs. Due to how the food system works now, most available foods are either processed foods composed primarily of 5 grains (which are carbs that turn into sugar), or meat that was fed the grains to fatten them. Plus theres junk like soda floating around that everyone gorges themselves on.
So, basically, about 20 years ago we started flooding the food supply with processed foods, obesity went from a non issue to an epidemic, and for some reason no one has really done anything about the problem. I know that's a bit hard to swallow, but it's the truth.
Hope that helps!

Any type of amphetamine that will curb your appetite.
Alternatively, a drug that leaves a nasty taste in your mouth (like the sleeping pill Zopiclone) might stop overeating, if not cravings.
Caffeine would be another alternative.
These are not good long-term choices though, you'll only become dependent and need more and more to the point that you'll feel horribly strung-out most of the time. Amphetamines in particular will leave you with incredible food cravings once the drug has worn off.
My advice is to try a little Pro Plus or Wake-Up tablets to help get the ball rolling and diminish your need to have the comfort of food in your belly, while finding lots to distract you with in your daily life.

Cocaine is likely to be totally useless. Even if it suppressed the appetite like amphetamines it does not last very long. But really drugs alone are definitely not the answer for losing weight.
Your best bet is to gradually reduce your food intake combined with an exercise programme. Don't expect fast results.

Adderall or adderall xr is the the way to go. It is an amphetamine but not severe like meth and it hits like weak coke if you snort it. Anyway if was originally made as a diet pill and is now currently used to treat adhd. It will speed u up unless you have add, or it chills you out. It will help you lose weight. Its the safest thing id recommend besides like going to the gym..

i think all drugs can have this effect, depending on the person and the drug and the starte of mind.
I also believe that all drugs can also cause dramatic weight gain depending on the person, the drug, the SOM etc etc.
Excersice is a safer bet of losing weight. Its just a bit more work.

Peyote, will make you throw up violently. You will lose weight. After the vomiting subsides you will experience incredible visions and energy. You will see God. You will find out where we come from and what is behind all that is apparent. You will have so much energy and wont feel like eating in a couple of days. Unless you stuff yourself after comming back from your trip, you will have lost a few pounds.

cocaine is a really poor choice, and it often causes weight gain in people, actually makes them hungry.
As for weight loss, the only one I've heard of recently that actually has some success is the drug for diabetes called Metformin, doctors have been prescribing it for weight loss with some success.

cocaine doesn't necessarily make you lose weight... lots of people can eat after taking it.
speed/amphetamines - anything that raises your heartrate and metabolism, will make you burn more energy.
