Substituting thinking for action can cause depression. Maybe thinking isn't the right word--more like obsessing about something that you can do nothing about, and that makes you depressed because you cannot see a way out.
Best solution: Get a lot of exercise. Take walks where you see things you don't always see. This will re-focus your mind and soon you will stop obsessing about the problem that made you feel depressed.

It's impossable to stop thinking all together,,,, but it is a help to keep your mind ocupied with things that make you happy , a good old movie you know the ending to , but it's still fun to see,, it helps to have a happy ending,, something light hearted , it also helps to know that god wants your life to have a happy ending , oh sure there is going to be a few twists and turns , but with a happy ending , the twists just add color to a dull life ,, only kidding ,,,Keep looking up

Depression can be triggered by a lot of things--events, crises, emotions, physical health. How we respond to negative thoughts can contribute to the depth and length of the experience.
