Always with a new product or one that is boasting about its " Improved " flavor. I have an intolerance to MSG (flavor enhancer E621) and have to be careful to avoid it. In Canada and the states this is quite easily done as many companies havegiven up using it and all of them list it clearly if they do use it..but in England it can be listed under a host of different names and is added to ..well, would you believe plain crisps? Supermarket's own brand.cheap crisps tend to be free of the stuff but many of the more expensive brands have taken the attitude that when we buy plain crisps we do not want them to taste of just potato and a little salt. This is true of a lot of other foods, gravy granules, stock cubes, salad dressings, ready meals of all sorts.......
