To be 100% accurate, you must use the numbers on the keypad on the right side of your keyboard. You also must have "Nums Lock" on. Then hold down the 'alt' key and type the appropriate 3 numbers listed below. When you release the alt key you will see the accented letter.
alt 160 = á
alt 130 = é
alt 161 = í
alt 162 = ó
alt 163 = ú
alt 129 = ü
alt 164 = ñ
alt 165 = Ñ
alt 168 = ¿
alt 173 = ¡
alt 167 = º
Don't forget that, with the exception of the Ñ, no capital letters are normally accented in Spanish.
These are the ones that apply to Spanish. There are others that you can discover. Just go through the different 3 number sequences and see what you get.

Did you try alt codes
alt + 0241 or
alt= 164
(Hold down the alt key then press all the numbers then release the alt key.)
If you have a laptop find numbers on your keyboard other than the regular numbers at the top, they will more than likely be another color. (Mine are blue.) Find the function key which will be the same color as the numbers. (Mine is next to my left side ctrl key.) Hold down the function key plus the alt key and then press the numbers that correspond with the same color as the function key.
If all else fails just copy and paste it from someone who typed it here.

If you have Micosoft Office on your computer, there should be a program in Accessories called Character Map.
You have to go in there and find the nyay (sp) and use the code provided. After that you should be able to import it easily into your fonts.

Go to "Insert" then click on "Symbols." Make sure you're at the top of the little screen. Seven rows down, nine letters in. That's where it is on my computer.
edit: Holy cow, Brian D is right!
edit: So is ryno1234... now I feel stupid.

One option you have is to open Microsoft Word, go to Insert at the top, and click symbol. Find the one you want in the font you like, and insert it. Then you can copy and paste it into whatever document you like.

You have to go into symbols and add it there. I know, I wish there was an easier way. It would help a lot when I'm doing Spanish homework. :-\
