There's a handful of common tortoises sold around here. Normal "box" turtles, Sulcatas or spur-thighs which can be African or greek, and Russian tortoises who only get to maybe 20cm as adults. There are way more factors needed to even come close to identifying them correctly. Color is a good clue, adult size, and place of origin help. if they're eat strictly greens they're probably tortoises though

it sounds like a soft shell turtle to me,a turtle will have webbing between the toes, especially on the back feet, tortoise feet are more like an elephants.also tortoises tend to have a higher less rounded shell and it is also much harder.if it is a soft shell species,it should have a very funny looking nose, almost like a dual tip exhaust pipe on a car.you can e-mail me at reptileman60@yhoo.com,i'd like to see how things work out.
