Can anybody answer this? I really need an answer ASAP...I will greatly appreciate it...if you can show how you got your answer that would be great also....thanks so much!!!

(2x^3-3x^2-2x+1) / (x^2+1)

The only way I know is, basically, long division.

See the following graphic -- I can't reproduce this with text:

The result is 2x - 3 remainder (-4x + 4), or equivalently,

(2x - 3) + (-4x + 4)/(x^2 + 1)
