Clinton pretty well gutted the military. Sold off the countries reserve oil supply. We had military aircraft that could not be flown for lack of money to buy parts, Combat equipment that couldn't be deployed if we had needed it because there was no money to repair, maintain or replace it. If we had suffered a major attack under his leadership we would have been toast. Bush has made sure that the military has been provided with everything they need to engage the enemy and win. Some of it was slow to come but it has gotten there. I think that care for the veterans injured has been way too slow and too little. It is getting better, but slow! The government under Bush seems to make winning a top priority (which it must be) while having to be forced into taking responsibility for taking care of those that actually confront the enemy. This should also be a top priority. Just my viewpoint.

I served in the Navy. I have many military friends and family members. We appreciate President Bush.
What makes you say "nearly every ex-service person speaks against Bush?" How many do you know?
Don't forget, the majority of service personnel joined AFTER 9/11/01 and AFTER President Bush took office. It is a volunteer force (no draft). I think your answer is right there.
Semper Fi to Richard T. (the Marine below)
EDIT: I love that all the service members that are not against President Bush are getting a thumbs down. It was asked what the true feelings of military members are...how can they be wrong with their answers? Funny!

No the asker hasn't interviewed each member of the military, but who the military supports in the upcoming election speaks volumes about their feelings.
They're donating a LOTmore money to the only republican candidate who wants to bring them home than to any other candidate. They're supporting Ron Paul. They want someone to save them and bring them home. They want to stop this madness. So to Doc C, yes they may vote republican, but look at which republican they're voting for this time.... The only one who's more determined to get them back than any of the republicans or even democrats for that matter.

Google it and you'll find a million other sources confirming the same. These were just the first two that I found.

They have often expressed themselves, but the pressure is to be a Dominionist Neocon fanatic, It is driven in at boot camp and the pressure is kept up the entire time they are in.
That there are any detractors is amazing as they risk everything, even being murdered like Tillman, while those who are open supporters risk nothing and are benefited hansomly.
The examples are many but I will put a few in sources.

The military for the most part, except a few passed over Generals love and support President Bush. They deal in reality. You just wait and see what happens if Hillary is elected! There will be people leaving the military in droves. My son was in during slick willies romp. I told him if he wanted to drop off his uniform and head to Canada, I would pay his way. And what REALLY is going to be funny is that military will be shorthanded and the Democrats will have to reinstate the draft! I can't wait to see some of you bandanna wearing libs go in. You will get what you asked for!

All I'll say is this: I DIDN'T VOTE FOR HIM!!!!
Give me your email address and I'll give you my full unedited opinion of him on January 2nd when I am medically retired!
And you know what else? I don't give a damn what my President does on his own time (as long as it's not on a vacation!) as long as he can run a country. Hell, if you want to get a hold of Bush, go look for him at one of his vacation homes; it seems like he lives at Camp David or Crawford and flies to D.C. a few days a month to do his job and then fly back to start another vacation!!
Edited: What I want to know is, where are these folks that say 80% of the military is Republican and/or voted for Bush getting this 'fact'? Also, how does anyone in here know for sure that the majority of people who are in the military now joined after or because of 9/11? There's a lot of blanket statements in here people! Let's just stick to opinions please!

I retired from the USMC 9 months ago.
I support Mr. Bush.
About 80% of military personnel do. The ones that don't get on television. That's because they are rare, and that means they are news.

1. The question should be, " IS the military..."
2. Where do you get your information?
Most service members vote Republican, and most do support the war.
Maybe you should get your facts straight!
