try sleeping on the hard floor, on your back. it isn't too comfy, but it should help. u could also try tying a 2 by 4 to your back when u sleep, still not comfortable though. hope this helps! =]

Itr's a common problem for many people who pick up Latin style of dancing. "Fixes" are different for different people, depending what's the cause. What helped me is thinking that every step involves a lot of rotation around the spine. Every step you take, you think where the sides of your body go relative to the spine. Once you activate your sides, your posture magically improves. One other way of thinking about that I've heard from one old experinced teacher is you "initiate every step with your balls" meaning thet you push your pelvis forward. I mean it sounds bad and dirty, but it works like a charm. One other way that totally doesn't work for me but works for other people is to suck in your stomack and dance like that.
Bad posture may be related to weak abdominal muscles. But even if you have abs of steel but don't use them properly you'd still have a bad posture.

hi there. in order to hold the correct posture in dance, our bodies need tons of what's called core (mostly stomach muscle) strength. the abs are used for soooo much in dance ! how about you start doing a regular abs workout, tons of crunches? maybe your teacher could suggest some for you. good luck, and i hope this helps. btw -- it will take a little time for any results to show, but i bet you start feeling it within a couple weeks if you work those abs !!

well, when dancing just tuck everything in. squeeze your booty and pull in your stomach and lengthen like a piece is pulling your body from the top of your head and through the soles of your feet. i've listed yoga poses that might help. also try standing against a wall, with perfect posture..it might help. hope i helped!
