My great Aunt was 102, she died because she fell off the roof sweeping snow and fractured her hip. I loved to pieces. She lived on Swiss cheese, beer and camel cigarettes. She told EVERYONE the secret to longevity.

I had an aunt that was a little over 100. My Grandmothers were, 96, and 92, as I recall, and another aunt was 94 1/2. I have out lived my mother...she passed at 40, and my dad was only 64.

That would be my Uncle Bob. He will be 87 next month. Uncle Bob is my mom's oldest brother. He flew airplanes in WWII. He was a teacher, worked for an aero space company and retired. At 80, he moved to Mammoth to lead packs of mules into the back country. After that he worked unloading heavy appliances for a department store at 82. Aunt Mary's heart got bad so they moved to the coast where he became a park ranger at Pismo Beach. Presently he is taking care of his wife. Her bad heart (at 82) is taking a toll on him. I can finally see him aging at 87. But I would bet that he will live into his 90's.

My grandmother was 99. My mother is 88 now and going strong. She may live past 100. My dad is 86 and in good shape, too. He has already lived past the age at which most of his relatives died.

My great aunt lived to be 98. And I was told, she was nearly
blind, but she somehow managed to still mow her own yard.
I thought that was amazing. I had another great aunt die last
year at 95 or 96. My grandma, their sister, lived til about 92
or 93. She was the baby of the family, and the best cook of
German and American food anyone could ask for. She was
a legend to anyone who tasted her cooking :)

my great grandpa lived to be 98 years old - he died in 1977
his brother (my great uncle) lived to 99 - died in 1975

when my Daddy died in 1972 at the age of 42, my great grandpa cried and cried - kept asking why it couldn't have been him. said he had outlived his usefulness and was ready to go. told him God wasn't ready for him yet - he must have a reason for leaving him here, but he was absolutely distraught.
