Okay... I have an abstract question

I'm trying to figure out the name of this movie... but I havent actually seen the movie, just the preview

The only thing that stands out is this:
There is a student in a large college classroom. He walks up to the professor to turn in an assignment... after the professor reads over the paper he says "You know, you just proved a 500 year old theory wrong." And the student just says "I know"

I know, I KNOW... this is very vague, but if anyone has the name of the movie it would help A LOT!

Thanks!

Beautiful Mind.. I'm almost positive

That's what he became "famous" for.. that's what got him through college. He got the idea from seeing three girls.. he decided that if you were to go for the "not so pretty" ones your odds for success were greater, whereas if you go to the pretty one first, and then try the others they will also turn you down. The theory that he "debunks" was used in many things over all, but was one of the foundation stones of business.. I don't have any way to put a clip of that scene.. but I'm pretty sure that is what his professor says.

I agree with the girl above me, I think it is Pay It Forward... You should check the Internet Movie DataBase and see if any of the characters look familiar!
