Which is better for a sad song?

Im writing a sad song and am looking for a suitable key. I was thinking d minor but if anything else seems better for a halloween suited song let me know.

Tune low, and d minor is cool.

depends. sad or do you want halloween?

sad you would want a slower song. but it wouldnt matter wht key it was in but for halloween you might want a song in a lower pitch but some what choppy or somehting that drags out and is slow and soft.
