They require a variety of foods to help ensure proper nutrition is met. Creatures such as earthworms, moths, crickets, grasshoppers, spiders, etc., may be fed. Insects like mealworms are acceptable on a limited basis, but it is suggested to keep mealworms to a minimum to decrease the risk of impaction caused by their hard exoskeletons. Whenever feeding meal worms, always look for the most freshly molted ones to feed; they will be pale cream in color.
