I know absolutely nothing about this movie except that it's animated. And I HATE scary movies, so if you think this would be scary to a seven year old, it will be scary to me so tell me. haha. And is it good even? Or crappy and a waste of time?

It's an excellent film with beautiful stop-motion action and puppetry. I would say that Mr. Oogey Boogey might be rather scary to a child but probably not to a teen or adult. There are a lot of rather gruesome and/or bizarre images, too. It's a humorous film, with regular laughs, dark humor, and a bit of perverseness at times. As I said before, Oogie Boogie is rather in-your-face, the darkest part of the film.
I do love this film and have watched it many times. It has been rightly deemed a classic of animation and is shown a lot at Halloween and at Christmas.

It isn't scary at all. It is a really great movie. Lots of music and dancing.
If you are thinking about going to the theater and paying to see it this Halloween, you do have an option to see it free. It will be on the Disney channel tomorrow October 24, at 8 PM.
You can watch it first and decide if you would let a 7 year old to watch it.

Jack Skellington (The pumpkin king) lives in halloweentown and as usual he celebrates haloween, but he's bored and finds a mysterious forest with 6 doors he opens the christmas tree one and discovers christmastown. The Haloween town residents are worried and go searching for jack until he comes home and calls a town meeting where he tells the townfolk about his new discovery and a mysterious man nicknamed "Santy claus". After a long researching process he finds out what christmas really means. He gives everyone a job for his own version of christmas until sally (his number 1 admirer) tells him that it will be a HUGE disaster ! He does not listen and tells the Trick or Treat kids to kidnap Santy Claus and to not tell oogie boogie (the evil Dude !!) about his plan. When he sets of on his slay he ends up being blown up out of the sky and going back to haloween town to save sally and santy claus from oogie boogie's lair. One of Tim Burton's greatest pieces a definite "Must see" I should know I've seen it 107 times !!!!!!

It's really good. And yes it would be scary to a seven year old. Well all the seven year olds I know would be scared of it. But you should watch it, and just remember that it is a cartoon. But yeah it's a really good movie.

it is so not scary at all its not made to be scary its acutally a really good movie & totally appropreate for kids.. im pretty sure its made for kids like disney [but a dif style then disney]

i think that its a stupid movie but my brother thinks it is cool. I don't think that it is scary. I think that a 7 year old might find it scary but i dought it.
